Please join Phillipa Hood, MA, Clinical Psychology, SFU Autism and Developmental Disabilities Lab, for an
informational meeting on a research study on ““Dialectical Behaviour Therapy for Self-Harming and
Suicidal Autistic People”.
This study will employ a neurodiversity-affirming approach, with an autistic therapist running the DBT Skills Training groups.
DBT is a mindfulness and cognitive-behavioural based intervention. The aim is to teach life skills in 4
areas: mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Eligibility: Autistic adults (19-50 years old) living in BC. Diagnosed, or, if you suspect you are autistic,
you may still be eligible. Have struggled with self- harming or suicidal behaviours over the last 5 years.
Event time is in Vancouver BC time.
