A Collaborative Zoom Meeting on Preparing for Life as an Independent Adult

  • Krystal Hussey, Support Link Program Coordinator, Aunt Leah’s Place, will share their programs & experience preparing youth as they “age out” from MCFD foster care:

“For 30 years, Aunt Leah’s Place has been helping kids in foster care and young mothers by providing guidance, supported housing, job training and coaching on essential life skills…Support at this critical time can help these young people realize their potential while becoming resilient, independent adults.”

  • Marie & Mark Griggs will share about how they have prepared their daughter for adult living.
  • Aaron Michael will join us by video to talk about moving away from family to live & work in Victoria.
  • Alexander Magnussen, who currently works for Milieu Family Services, will speak about his evolution from living in highly supported group homes to independent living, with his wife & son.

This is a free event but registration is required.
