Shane Lynch, PhD, Special Education & Registered Psychologist is the Director of Innovation and Evaluation at the Sinneave Family Foundation in Calgary, Alberta
This meeting will be a deep dive into Motivation: What is it?
How does “having it” (or not!) impact our ability to determine or achieve our goals? Is it enhanced or inhibited by factors within ourselves (sleep, diet, or exercise), or by factors in our environments (season, weather, time of day, distractions around us)? We will look at all of these, will explore strategies for building self-determination, and will discuss ways to challenge ourselves to find the motivation we need to achieve our goals.
Shane has been working in the fields of autism, developmental & behavior disorders, and mental health since 1997. He was named a Strategic Training Fellow by the Canadian Institute for Health Research, and has worked across Alberta, the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories, consulting with, and training organizations & schools to support individuals with severe & complex behaviour. Shane has taught at the University of Alberta, been published in scientific journals, and presented at international conferences.
