 The Pianist is a 2002 film directed by Roman Polanski. Based on the memoirs of Wladyslaw Spielmann, it stars Adrien Brody as Spielmann, a Polish Jew living in Warsaw at the outbreak of World War II. As the Spielmann family sees their freedoms eroded by the Nazi invasion, Wladyslaw looks to escape the Jewish ghetto in Warsaw. Will he survive the war?
