Relevant Resources

October 28, 2022 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm PDT

Free

A resource is only useful if you can find what you are looking for! In response to COVID so many of our activities have gone online. The silver lining to offset the loss of one-to-one real-life contact, is the quality and accessibility of workshops, seminars & videos from knowledgeable, credible sources that are now available. This meeting will direct us toward some resources that are pertinent to us – autistic adults & their families!

We are pleased to have Michelle Garcia Winner & Joanna Nefs speak to us about their resource libraries & how to access them.

Michelle Garcia Winner, MA, CCC-SLP, is the Founder & CEO of Social Thinking and a globally recognized thought leader, author, speaker, and social-cognitive therapist. She is dedicated to helping people of all ages with learning differences, develop social emotional learning. Her work demonstrates how social competencies impact people’s broader lives their academic & career performance, and their ability to foster relationships.

Joanna Nefs, is the CEO of Aide Canada, a national initiative to bring online resources to the autism/disability community.  Previous roles include working for the UN Secretariat for the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and as a lawyer specializing in assisting people specializing in assisting those with mental and intellectual disabilities.
