This month’s movie is the Romantic-Comedy “Midnight in Paris” from 2011 starring Owen Wilson as Gil and Rachael McAdams as Inez.

How would one describe this movie? An artistic Romantic-Comedy set in the City of Lights.

What exactly is the plot of the movie? Set in Paris, the film follows Gil Pender (Owen Wilson), a screenwriter, who is forced to confront the shortcomings of his relationship with his materialistic fiancée (Rachel McAdams) and their divergent goals, which become increasingly exaggerated as he travels back in time each night at midnight.

Runtime: 94 minutes (1 hour and 34 minutes)

Rating: PG (Sexually Suggestive Language)

Fun Fact: As the American expatriate Gertrude Stein (Kathy Bates) gets to speak French and Spanish in this film.

Personal Rating: 6/10

Personal Feelings: The film starts out a bit rough but by he end of it, I definitely enjoyed it. Gil’s struggles as a writer hits close to home for me.
