This month our SPS Movie Group will watch together the 1988 Sci-Fi Thriller THEY LIVE, starring Roddy Piper as “Nada” and Keith David as “Frank”.
How would one describe this movie? This movie is an Action Sci-Fi Horror that has many themes that are still relevant to this day.
What exactly is the plot of the movie? They influence our decisions without us knowing it. They numb our senses without us feeling it. They control our lives without us realizing it. THEY LIVE.

Fun Fact: John Carpenter brought real “homeless folks” into the production for several scenes and smaller characters and gave them food as well as paychecks. “I thought that was a pretty classy thing to do,” said Roddy Piper.

Personal Feelings: I had watched this movie for the first time years ago, not knowing what to expect and I’m glad I did. I highly recommend going into this film knowing as little as possible and you won’t regret it. This film can easily be considered timeless.
